Ysaan Institute
is a Thailand-based virtual learning academy founded by LivingHour.org. Our mission is to enhance the curriculums of schools and universities in Thailand and Southeast Asia with unique online educa-
tional materials which can be integrated easily with existing courses of studies.

Our primary areas of interest are sustainable development, eco-travel, community-level entrepreneurship, green living, and English as a Second Language. We also are dedicated to providing interactive courses and resources to individual students of the Thai language, Isaan dialect, and English language.

Thailand Education Reform: Training, Motivation, & Recruitment

Press ReleaseSep 05, 2010 – The Ysaan Institute has offered a three prong approach to Thailand education reform that hinges on the training of Thai teachers. Other recommendations include new government policies related to enhanced incentives for teachers and administrators, and increased recruitment of Thai teachers, foreign teachers, and support staff. Thai & English Courses: Invitation to Teachers

We are now accepting proposals from university instructors in Thailand and Southeast Asia who would like us to host their courses, tests, quizzes, readings, videos, audio books, or other learning activities at Ysaan Institute. We are particularly interested in materials which advance thinking skills, creativity, regional networking, and entrepreneurship, and which are related to the fields of eco-travel, sustainable development, green living, and the English and Thai Languages. The LivingHour.org staff is currently working on a variety of free and inexpensive materials for learning Thai, Isaan, and English as a Second Language online.   • The Science Scholars English Reading Certificate (SSERC) is Asia's first online reading and quiz program specifically written for current and future Asian professionals in all scientific fields.

    Featuring hundreds of science passages relating to nature, biology, energy, health, technology, and more, this 30 week (two term) online program takes the reader slowly and systematically from a 3rd grade English reading level to the college level.

    Here in Term 1 of the course, students are taken from a 3rd grade reading level to a 7th grade level. Who is the Science Scholars English reading Certificate program appropriate for?

    * High School Students in Advanced English Curriculums

  • Term 2 of The Science Scholars English Reading Certificate (SSERC) hundreds of more science passages relating to nature, biology, energy, health, technology, and more. In this term of the course, students are taken from a 8th grade reading level to the freshman college level. On successful completion of the second term all students are awarded a certificate, and those who have achieved an 80% or higher are awarded a special certificate of distinction.
  • The Life Scholars English Reading Certificate (LSERC) is a unique general reading and quiz program written specifically for Asian students studying in the arts and humanities, including business fields.

    Students are gradually and systematically taken from a 3rd grade reading level to the college level over 30 weeks (two academic terms) with interesting passages relating to culture, arts, life stories, language, philosophy, health, computers, education, entrepreneurship, famous people, small business, and more.

    Here in Term 1, students are taken from the 3rd grade level to the 7th grade level with quizzes related to reading passages that are 100 words, 250 words, and 500 words in length. The program is suitable for university students and students at international schools or schools with advanced English programs. ESL teachers will also benefit from taking the program, especially those who are non-native speakers.

  • Term 2 of The Life Scholars English Reading Certificate (LSERC) hundreds of more passages relating to arts, culture, language, personal health, money management, small business, history, current affairs, and more. In this term of the course, students are taken from a 8th grade reading level to the freshman college level.

    On successful completion of the second term all students are awarded a certificate, and those who have achieved an 80% or higher are awarded a special certificate of distinction.
